Benefits awarded to recipients of University of Waterloo scholarships include the following:

  • Awards for one-term study experiences, one-term employment or volunteer experiences, and two-term work or volunteer experiences will be given out by the David Johnston–Lebovic Foundation International Experience Awards. The maximum value of the awards is $2,500.
  • A maximum of six terms, valued at $2,500 each, are allowed for the International Master’s Award of Excellence.

Eligibility Criteria:

 

  • High school with 75% aggregate
  • Health insurance
  • Study permit for Canada
  • English Language Proficiency
    • IELTS – 6.5
    • TOEFL IBT – 90
    • PTE – 63
  • The applicants must be full-time undergraduate and graduate students in any faculty who would like to take part in an academic exchange, a study term tied to academic requirements, a volunteer placement, a minimally paid or volunteer international co-op work placement, or any combination of these.
  • Foreign students enrolled full-time at Canadian universities with a valid study permit are charged foreign tuition.
  • Typically assigned to students enrolled in programs that focus on research (thesis or major research article).
  • Will often only be granted to students who are starting their program’s first term (term 1.0).
  • The Faculty’s specified requirements must be met by students to demonstrate their academic excellence.
  • In addition to meeting their program’s standards for academic progress, students must not have any unfulfilled probationary admission requirements.
