Manaaki New Zealand International Scholarships
The New Zealand Government offers full tertiary scholarships for eligible international students to study full-time at a New Zealand education institution or a Pacific university. The scholarships are open to citizens of selected countries in the Pacific, Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Carribbean. The scholarships include full tuition fees, a living allowance (NZ$531 per week), an establishment allowance (NZ$3000), medical and travel insurance, travel to and from your own country and New Zealand at the start and end of your scholarship, travel home during your scholarship, and help with research and thesis costs for many postgraduate students.

 

New Zealand University Scholarships

 

  • University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship
    New international undergraduate and postgraduate students who are applying to study taught PGDip or Masters of 120 points or more, or who are applying to study undergraduate degrees (with overseas secondary or post-secondary qualifications), are eligible for the University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship. Any subject can be studied. The primary goal of the Scholarship is to entice exceptional new overseas students to join in one-year or longer undergraduate or graduate teaching programs at the University of Auckland. Depending on whether the candidate is starting their studies in Semester 1 or Semester 2, up to 50 scholarships worth up to $10,000 will be given out biannually for postgraduate and undergraduate study.

 

  • Tongarewa Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington
    To commemorate the university’s dedication to its community of international students, Victoria University of Wellington is offering the Tongarewa Scholarship. Applicants who are starting their first year of an undergraduate program or a postgraduate program at Victoria University of Wellington are eligible. It is required of recipients to represent Victoria University of Wellington as ambassadors and, upon request, to take part in marketing initiatives or relevant events. For bachelor’s and master’s degrees, there are up to ten scholarships worth NZ$10,000, and for master’s degrees only, there are up to nine scholarships for NZ$5,000.

Support for international students pursuing a thesis-based master’s degree at the University of Otago is provided by the University of Otago International Master’s Award .The scholarship covers a salary of NZ$17,172 per year for master’s studies, as well as a one-year tuition price remission capped at the domestic rate (insurance and student services charge not included).

 

  • University of Waikato International Excellence Scholarships 
    The scholarships are awarded to gifted overseas students who have the ability to represent the University of Waikato internationally and who have demonstrated exceptional academic accomplishment. Candidates must plan to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate programme at the University of Waikato for the first time. The award can be applied to tuition fees totaling up to NZ$10,000.

 

  • 180-credit Taught Master’s Merit Scholarship at Lincoln University
    Scholarships ranging from NZ$7,000 to NZ$10,000 are available from Lincoln University to deserving overseas students pursuing taught master’s programs, which offer 180 credits.
