Romania Government Scholarships 2024-2025.
The Romanian Government Scholarship 2024-2025 will provide international students with free accommodation for the duration of the scholarship programme. In addition, a monthly stipend will be provided. Students can also get full medical assistance free of charge.

In what language are the courses taught?
Courses offered in the first three years of study in Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy are available in Romanian, English or French.
Due to the need for doctor-patient communication, clinical training, seminars and practical work are conducted in Romanian starting from the fourth year of study.
In the Physiokinesiotherapy and Rehabilitation study program, teaching activities take place entirely in Romanian.
 The costs of the application process and the tuition fees?
The University charges a non-refundable file processing fee of €300 for each file registered receiving platform.
Applicants accepted based on the evaluation of personal files have access to paid positions only.
Confirmation of places for accepted applicants will be done through registration platform and provided payment of 1/2 tuition has been received. Amount paid to confirm the place obtained is not returned.
Scholarships offered to foreign citizens by the Romanian state through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Scholarships to study at accredited higher education institutions in Romania are awarded based on a combined assessment of the application by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Ministry of Education and Research (MER). 85 study places are subsidized for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies.(Romania scholarships for international students in 2024/2025).

85 study places are distributed between three levels of study:
Bachelor study programs are intended for graduates of high school studies or pre-university studies, at the end of which they obtained a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, as well as applicants for further university studies in Romania. The complete program takes 3-6 years, depending on the specialization followed, and ends with a bachelor’s exam;
Master’s study programs are intended for undergraduates, last for 1 year, 1.5 years or 2 years and end with a dissertation examination;
Doctoral programs are intended for postgraduate students or equivalent students and last for 3-5 years depending on the profile of the chosen faculty and end with the presentation of a dissertation.
Eligibility: Foreigners from all non-EU countries (with a few exceptions listed in the Methodology, such as citizens of Romanian origin who are eligible for various scholarship programs)

Language Requirements
To promote the Romanian language and culture, recipients of scholarships awarded by the Romanian state for undergraduate and master’s studies study only in Romanian.
The exception is doctoral students, who can choose to study in Romanian or a foreign language determined by the doctoral school.
Applicants who do not speak Romanian are given a preparatory year to study Romanian before their own university studies, with the exception of doctoral students who have chosen the form of education in a foreign language determined by the doctoral school. How to submit the application file
Applicants must send application files in electronic or physical form (preferably in electronic form) only through diplomatic missions of Romania. If you are an international student studying in Romania, you have several options to take advantage of scholarships. European students can use the Erasmus+ program (for short-term mobilities) or they can choose scholarships awarded by the Romanian state. You can find more information in the Erasmus+ section.

Scholarships for students from non-EU countries
If you are from a non-EU country, you can apply for different types of scholarships, such as:
Scholarships established on the basis of bilateral or multilateral intergovernmental or intercultural agreements of Romania;
Scholarships offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA);
Scholarships offered by the Ministry of Education (ME), awarded for good academic results while studying in Romania;
Scholarships offered by the Ministry of Economy aimed at supporting economic and business cooperation actions;
other (occasional) scholarships.
1. State scholarships
The amount and number of state scholarships awarded to students from non-EU countries is determined by a government decision. Universities may decide to additionally award scholarships to international students depending on their priorities and in accordance with their institutional autonomy. The potential recipient should be advised that:
scholarships are awarded in the national currency (Romanian lei);
scholarships are suspended if students do not obtain the necessary annual academic credits, violate Romanian legislation or rules set by universities;
scholarships do not cover personal expenses and international transport; covering accommodation in university dormitories is the responsibility of the students.
2. Scholarships offered by the Romanian State through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Recipients of these scholarships are foreign nationals from all non-EU countries, with the following exceptions of persons who are not eligible under this scheme:
citizens of Romanian origin or who are part of Romanian historical communities near Romania (eligible for various scholarship programs);
citizens who have applied for or obtained a certain form of protection in Romania;
stateless persons whose residence on the territory of Romania is officially recognized by law;
members of the diplomatic and consular corps or family members of the diplomatic and consular corps accredited in Romania; members of the administrative and technical staff of diplomatic missions and consular offices accredited in Romania;
staff of international organizations based in Romania or family members of staff of international organizations based in Romania;
recipients of a scholarship from the Romanian state for the same study cycle.
The scholarship applicant can choose any of the following three study cycles at accredited universities in Romania:

The following categories of persons are exempt from enrollment in the preparatory year for the Romanian language:
1.Those who present Romanian study documents (diplomas or certificates) or study documents, school records confirming at least four consecutive years of studies attended in Romanian in an educational unit/institution from the Romanian national system;
2.Those who, in order to enroll in university studies, pass a Romanian language exam organized according to the regulations in force;
3.Those who, in order to enroll in university education, present a certificate of language proficiency in Romanian, minimum level B1, issued according to the applicable regulations.

3. Scholarships offered by the Ministry of Education for ethnic Romanians living abroad
The Romanian state awards scholarships to ethnic Romanians from the Republic of Moldova, Albania, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Hungary and ethnic Romanian citizens with permanent residence abroad. These scholarships are awarded in a merit-based competition. The latest updates (for the academic year 2021-2022) can be found on the website of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. For students from the Republic of Moldova, a partnership was signed between the Ministries of Education of the two countries, which provides for a comprehensive scheme of student benefits.
